The team behind the Bored Ape Yacht confirmed that its Discord Server was compromised.
Bored Ape Yacht Club or so-called Bored Ape, is a non-fungible token (NFTs) collection, which is built on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection features profile pictures of cartoon characters of apes that are procedurally generated by an algorithm. The bored Ape collection is standing at the top-ranked NFTs collection by market cap.
On 1 April, BoredApeYC warned its users to remain aware of the ongoing chances of risk. Through the Twitter warning, the team suggested people not to mint anything from the Discord medium because it was compromised.
With this attention warning, the team also confirmed that they are not doing any kind of April fool-like activities, so people suggested to remain aware of such kinds of things.
Through the top pinned tweet, the team also confirmed that they are not launching anything today and also people should remain aware of this because it will surely be a part of a scam.
According to the analysis report by crypto analytic firm PeckShield, Hacker successfully published a phishing link with the Mutant Ape Kennel Club channel. And hacker succeeds to steal Mutant Ape Yacht Club #8662.
Besides this incident, a similar kind of incident took place with popular crypto NFTs collections Doodles. However, users are reporting about the exploit but the official announcement is still not made.
Earlier this around a week ago, the newly launched NFT collection Rare Bears faced a similar kind of accident and lost around $790,000 worth of funds.
