Crypto hardware Trezor maker company confirmed that its users received Phishing attack mails.

Trezor is a crypto hardware producer company, which has headquarters in Praha, Czech Republic. However, the ledger wallet concept was introduced by its backed company in 2014 but the launch year of its main company Satoshi Labs was 2013. Right now Trezor is standing at 2nd in the crypto industry as the top used crypto hardware wallet.

Just a couple of days ago, Many Trezor users received mail from Trezor. The mail contained some guidelines for the users to download and upgrade the leger suite because of some security breach. Many users shared this mail on Twitter.

One Twitter user reported about this phishing mail and noted that it was the best Phishing mail attempt.

Wow, @Trezor, this is the best phishing attempt I have seen in the last few years. I am really lucky I don’t have Trezor, because if I had, I would probably actually download that update. pic.twitter.com/DaBN2Oix11

Finally, on 3 April, Trezor’s official Twitter account confirmed that they faced a data breach newsletter, hosted on MailChimp. Through the tweet, Trezor warned users not to open mail or download/upgrade anything.

We are investigating a potential data breach of an opt-in newsletter hosted on MailChimp.

A scam email warning of a data breach is circulating. Do not open any email originating from [email protected], it is a phishing domain.

Through another twitter thread, Trezor confirmed that MailChimp informed that some other insider crypto targeting company was involved.

“MailChimp have confirmed that their service has been compromised by an insider targeting crypto companies…(..)…We have managed to take the phishing domain offline. We are trying to determine how many email addresses have been affected.”

Further Trezor added that the company will not communicate with the users with Newsletter until the problem will get fixed properly.

Trezor urged people to use anonymous email addresses to work for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies related activities, to remain away from such kinds of threats.

We will not be communicating by newsletter until the situation is resolved.
Do not open any emails appearing to come from Trezor until further notice. Please ensure you are using anonymous email addresses for bitcoin-related activity. 2/
